First item is a letter dated Bilbao, [Spain] December 1, 1781 by Jonas Hartwell to Moses Brown, Beverly, [Mass.] in which agent for merchant partnership of Brown & Thorndike reports on his readiness to send goods from Spain to Mass. Second item is a letter dated Bilbao, [Spain] November 23 1787 by John Burke to "my dear friend" in which Burke discusses being executor of the Hartwell estate. Also includes two financial accounts of Hartwell with Brown & Thorndike and three documents concerning the settling of accounts between Brown & Thorndike and the heirs to Jonas Hartwell.
